BARBARESCO STARDERI

DENOMINAZIONE DI ORIGINE CONTROLLATA E GARANTITA

2015 Starderi

Classification:
Red wine DOCG from Piemonte.
Position of the Vineyards: The vineyard which sits in the village of Neive, on the South-Western side of the famous hill named “Starderi”.
Vines: 100% Nebbiolo for Barbaresco, planted in 1967.
Soil: Grey-bluish sandy marls.
Vintage: October – 2nd and 3rd weeks.
Way of Production: Vinification “in red” with a 10-15 day maceration of the skins under a controlled temperature. The wine is then preserved in a 5000-litre, lightly-toasted Slavonian barrel for 19-21 months. The wine is then bottled and aged for 1 year.
Features: This Barbaresco is an excellent wine, with an intensely garnet red colour. The scent is ethereal and harmonic, fruity even austere; the taste is full and dry and the sweet tannin leaves it smooth and velvety.
The Vintage: 2015
Serving Temperature: 18°C
Pairings: Roasted meat and game as well as aged cheeses.
Ageing: 2 years. This wine faces an excellent future and, if well kept, it will be at its best in 2-3 years.
