BARBARESCO ROMBONE

DENOMINAZIONE DI ORIGINE CONTROLLATA E GARANTITA

2016 Rombone

Classification:
Red wine DOCG from Piemonte.
Position of the Vineyards: Single vineyard in the cru Rombone in Triesco, exposed to the west.
Vines: 100% Nebbiolo for Barbaresco, planted in 1997.
Soil: Alternating sandstones, layers of sands and grey marls.
Vintage: October – 2nd and 3rd weeks.
Way of Production: Vinification “in red” with a 10-12 day maceration of the skins under a controlled temperature. The wine is then preserved in a 3000-litre, lightly-toasted Slavonian barrel for 12 months, depending on the vintage. The wine is then bottled and aged for 1 year.
Features: Rombone is a land with features that make the wines more structured than the most of the Barbaresco and so Rombone Nebbiolo is similar to some Barolo. It has the typical red-garnet red with orange tones. The scent is elegant and clean, ethereal. This wine is characterised by a full and harmonic dry taste and a sweet and round tannin. It can be appreciated at its best after several months of bottle ageing.
The Vintage: 2016
Serving Temperature: 18°C
Pairings: Roasted meat and game, egg pasta.
Ageing: This wine is enjoyable now or can be stored and enjoyed after many years.
